Willie was drafted out of South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington by the Seattle Mariners in the eighth round of the 1996 MLB Drafter but decided to attend ASU. At ASU, Willie was named ASU One Deck Circle Most Valuable Player to join Barry Bonds, Dustin Pedroia, Ike Davis and Paul Lo Duca. In 1999, Willie was drafted by the Mariners of out ASU in the third round. Willie is one of the elite Utility players in Major League Baseball and has provided his talent to the Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks. Willie helped lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to the 2011 postseason for the first time since 2007.
Willie is married and a proud father of his two daughters, Natalie and Ava.
